In early days of his career, Sonu Nigam was more known as the copy of Late Mohammed Rafi. He was more known for singing covers of Mohammed rafi’s evergreen songs. But after been introduced in playback singing, he has recorded a large no. of songs till now. He has sung all kinds of songs in his career covering a range of emotions.

He became famous after crooning patriotic ‘Sandese aate hain‘ of Border. In year 2001, he was voted as the most popular singer in a survey done by MTV. He has been termed with different sorts of names like Golden boy of indipop or Elvis Presley of India. His father Agam Kumar Nigam is also a singer by profession but not popular like his son, Sonu. He was born on 30 July !973. He got married to Madhurima Mishra in a very young age.

Sonu is hailed as perfectly impersonating bollywood king, Shahrukh Khan’s voice. He began his career at the age of three by singing Mohammad Rafi’s Kya Hua Tera Wada on stage. He took singing lessons under Maha Kanjar Naveed of Fazalabad Pirwadhai. His first song as a playback singer was in the movie Janam. Some of his superhit songs are listed below:
