Bollywood family drama movie, Ujala Hi Ujala, directed by S. M. sagar was released in the year 1974. The movie starred Vinod Mehra and Yogeeta Bali in lead roles while Chnad Usmani, Mehmood, Ashok Kumar, Rakesh pandey, Anoop Kumar, Iftekhar, Brahamchari and Lily Chakraborthy also played significant characters in the film. The hit melodious music of the movie was composed by none other than the hit veteran music director by Rahul Dev Burman while the songs were beautifully sung by Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhonsle etc.

Anuradha ( Yogeeta Bali ) is living alongwith her father ( Anoop Kumar ) and her stepmother named Anita ( Lily Chakravarty ). Anita hates Anuradha and is planning to throw her out of the house. Anuradha is forced to drink alcohol by Anita so that she can throw her out on the basis of her alcoholic behaviour. Anuradha is now addicted to alcohol. Her father and step mother Anita, both are dead now. Anuradha has to run a huge estate and business on her own with the help of her friend, Ajit and uncle, Jamuna Prasad ( Iftekhar ).

Vikram ( Vinod Mehra ) is hired on a special post by Anuradha on the request of her uncle. Anuradha dislikes Vikram in person but because of her uncle, she adjusts with him. Her thinking about Vikram changes when he rescues her from a certain death. Soon they both falls in love with each other. he decides to get married to him. But just before their marriage could happen, Ajit comes with some objectionable photographs of Vikram with a womna named Gita ( Nazima ).
