By this time, we all know about the great Indian dream coming true at the 81ST Academy Awards better known as the Oscars. Four artists from India won the Oscar namely A.R.Rahman, Gulzaar Saab, Resul and Pinki. However, the question that is troubling some people is that why were Sukhwinder who sang the song Jai Ho and the lyricist of the song Gulzaar Saab were missing from the show.

Sukhwinder was to perform in front of the audience inside the Kodak Theatre alongside Rahman on the song Jai Ho but he was not able to do so as he was not able to receive a work permit from the authorities to perform at the Oscars. Gulzaar Saab escaped saying that he did not have a black coat to wear to the occasion nor was any lawyer willing to lend him one.

Both were a tad bit disappointed, as they were not able to attend the historic moment because of the authorities who denied the work permit. Gulzaar Saab said that he knew Rahman was different from the other composers since the first time they worked together in the movie Dil Se. He says that Indian artists winning the Oscars will get the industry global recognition. The song Jai Ho might have been used in the movie Guru but was not and here it is winning the Oscar.

He says that Indian classical music was known to the west but know they know that we can give music other than the classical one. He says that Rahman has changed the way people from the west will look at our artist and their work.
